We are saying good bye to our volunteers Tobias, Lennart and Elias. Tobias stayed with us for six months and did a great job in running our language school. Lennart was passionately involved in our McQuilton Academy, where he taught the kids in different subjects, trained football and fostered their creativity in engaging them in different art projects. He was also a great help and mentor in our football academy, where he will also be remembered by the former street kids. Elias was instrumental in lifting up the ambiance around the school whenever necessary with his great sense of humor. He also taught the kids in subjects as geography. His greatest contribution was to build and buy instruments for the school in order to bring some musical education into McQuilton. The kids have been extremely happy with their new opportunities to make music.

Since so many people at Mydel are doing great work for little or no salary, it was time to thank them by organizing a beach party at "White sand beach" in Entebbe. Around 35 people, including employees, local- and international volunteers, as well as friends of the organization departed for a day of fun on Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival at the beach many took the opportunity to freshen up in Lake Victoria, while others relaxed with refreshments from the beach bar. Later on, certificates were given to departing volunteers and words of appreciation were shared. The day came to an end with many new friendships made and a lot of new inspiration for future projects and cooperations. We want to thank everyone, who was part of this marvellous day and for proving once again, that Mydel can play just as hard as they work.

Our volunteer Tobi, who organized the Kisenyi language school has unfortunately left us, after 6 months of great work in providing predominantly Somali refugees with language courses, including German, French and Spanish. In a small ceremony he awarded the participants with certificates of attendance, giving these marginalized people a little bit of hope for their future. The sceptre of leadership was passed on to Claudia, our new volunteer from Germany, who will now head this project for one year. We are also happy to announce, that an additional language learning centre was added in the Salama Inn guesthouse in Kisenyi 3, so that we are now running two language programmes at the same time, in order to reach out to more young people with an appetite for education.
